Delivery

At A Novel Place Bookshop, we pride ourselves on offering the very best titles that other bookshops overlook.

Because many of the books we offer are sourced specifically to fulfil your order, rather than being held in stock, some orders may take a little longer to dispatch.

Most orders are dispatched within 2 working days. However, some titles need to be specially sourced or produced by our suppliers and can take approximately 2–4 weeks before they are ready for dispatch.

To keep your order together, all items will be dispatched in one delivery once every title is ready. This means that if your order contains a book that requires additional sourcing time, or is a Pre Order, the entire order will be dispatched once all the books are available.

If your order requires a little extra time, we’ll keep you fully updated. If an item becomes unavailable from our supplier, we’ll contact you and refund the affected item to your original payment method.

Pre Orders

Pre orders are not included in our standard dispatch times.

Pre order titles will be dispatched on their advertised release date. Embargoed titles will not be dispatched before their official release date.

If you order other items alongside pre orders, all items will be dispatched together once all the titles are available.

To receive available items sooner, please place your pre order separately.

Please check the individual product listing for the expected release date, as publication dates can occasionally change.

UK delivery

Once your order is ready for dispatch it will be sent via Royal Mail or Parcelforce 48hr tracked service.

Tracking your order

Tracked orders can be followed using the tracking number provided in your dispatch email.

Please allow up to 24 hours after dispatch for tracking information to become active.

You can track your order through

Royal Mail Tracking or Parcelforce Tracking.

Delivery delays

Our dispatch times are separate from the delivery times provided by the postal or courier service.

While we aim to use the delivery service selected at checkout, delivery times after dispatch are outside our direct control. Delays can occasionally occur due to circumstances such as industrial action, public or bank holidays, severe weather or other postal and courier disruptions.

If your order has not arrived within a reasonable time frame, please contact us at anovelplacebookshop@gmail.com and we’ll investigate this for you.

Nothing in this Delivery Policy affects your statutory consumer rights.

Pre Orders

Please purchase pre order products separately from other items. If an order contains a pre order, all items in the order will be dispatched together once the are all available for dispatch. This will result in a delay in receiving other items in your order.

When you purchase a pre order, you are purchasing a product that has not yet been released.

You can cancel a pre order at any time before it has been dispatched. Once a pre order has been dispatched, it can no longer be cancelled, but you can request a return and refund after it arrives. Please see our Returns Policy for more information about returns and refunds.
