We understand that sometimes you may need to change or cancel an order. This policy explains how cancellations work for orders placed with A Novel Place Bookshop, including pre-orders.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this policy.
Cancelling a standard order
If you have placed an order and it has not yet been dispatched, please contact us as soon as possible at:

Once an order has been dispatched, it may no longer be possible to cancel it before delivery. In this situation, you can use your statutory cancellation rights or our 30-day returns policy, where applicable.

Pre orders
Pre order items are products that are not yet available for dispatch and are expected to be released on a future date.
When placing a pre order, please check the individual product listing for the expected release date. Release dates are provided by publishers and distributors and may sometimes change.
Cancelling a pre order
If you change your mind about a pre order before it has been dispatched, please contact us at:
We will cancel the pre-order and refund any payment that has been taken, subject to applicable law.
If the pre order has already been dispatched, you can exercise your applicable statutory cancellation rights and/or use our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Orders containing pre orders
We recommend placing pre orders separately from other items.
Pre order titles will be dispatched on their advertised release date. Embargoed titles will not be dispatched before their official release date.If you order other items alongside pre orders, all items will be dispatched together once all the titles are available.
Digital products and audiobooks
Digital products and audiobooks may have different cancellation rights from physical products.
Where digital content is supplied immediately after purchase, you may be asked to expressly agree to immediate supply and acknowledge that this may affect your statutory cancellation rights.

Refunds following cancellation
Where a cancellation is accepted and a refund is due, we will normally refund the payment using the original payment method.
Refunds will be made within the time frame required by applicable consumer law.
Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process the refund and show it in your account.
