Hello, I'm Michelle, the bookseller behind A Novel Place Bookshop.

I run this independent online bookshop for readers who want to discover something beyond the bestseller list. Science fiction and fantasy are my speciality, with a particular soft spot for overlooked backlist gems, forgotten favourites and stories that deserve a little more attention.

I choose every title for the shelves rather than trying to list every book in print. Whether you're after a sprawling space opera, a wonderfully strange fantasy or a book that slipped under the radar, I hope you'll find something worth losing sleep over.

How ordering works

Choose your books and order through the website as normal. I source many titles specially from suppliers after you order, so some take longer to dispatch. I send the books in your order together once everything is ready, including any pre orders.

You can find dispatch and postage details on my Delivery & Orders page. If you have a question or need help finding a title, contact me.

Thanks for supporting my little corner of the book world.
