The Light Brigade

SYNOPSIS

Corporate armies fight an interplanetary war against Mars by turning their soldiers into light and transporting them between battlefields. Those who return altered are known as the Light Brigade. Survival depends on following orders, whatever happens during a deployment.

For new infantry recruit Dietz, the missions begin to diverge from those experienced by the rest of the platoon. Each troubling arrival suggests that the war is very different from the version presented by the commanders. Dietz must decide whether these contradictions reveal a hidden truth or a mind damaged by combat, while trying to stay alive in a conflict where the distinction between hero and enemy is becoming impossible to trust.
